Statut

Delivered in 2024

The team led by the architect Pascale Guédot was selected to build the Mechanics Hub (Pôle de Mécanique) of the École Polytechnique district.

This building of approximately 7,110 m² brings together the research laboratories working in the fields of solid mechanics, hydrodynamics, fluid mechanics and biological mechanics. This grouping is part of the association agreement between ENSTA ParisTech and École Polytechnique, signed in autumn 2015 with the aim of strengthening cooperation in teaching and research between these two institutions.

In addition to housing the new Institute of Mechanical Sciences and Industrial Applications (IMSIA), the Hydrodynamics Laboratory (LadHyx) and the Solid Mechanics Laboratory (LMS), the building contains experimental equipment, measuring instruments, work and additive-manufacturing spaces as well as the technical teams.
