Located in the Lyon district of La Confluence, Jean Nouvel’s new tower, named Ycone, reveals a complex appearance, playing with a concrete façade, timber frame and aluminium windows, clad in aluminium cassettes, and a double glass skin alternating void and solid glazing.
Ycone reaches 64 metres in height with a timber frame, concrete façades clad in aluminium and lined with an opaline glass skin which provides every apartment with spacious terraces or loggias “where one is both outside and inside”, explains the architect. The whole is topped with a graceful metal canopy, indispensable in summer in Lyon.
