The Invalides air terminal was inaugurated for the 1900 Universal Exhibition. Despite the interest of this historic architectural site, located in the heart of an attractive, tourist-friendly district, the place had become difficult to reach and was gradually abandoned by Parisians.
The refurbishment of this site, shared between the City of Paris and the SNCF, allows the creation of Aérog’Art, a cultural centre whose main access, with its redesigned landscape, showcases the entrance to the building. The project includes a venue to host the Giacometti Foundation, an exhibition space dedicated to art, and a school, two restaurants and the Foundation’s offices installed in the great hall. Spaces showcasing young creators are fitted out at the level of the former Invalides station.
