Following a project management competition, the architecture firm Wilmotte & Associés was selected to rethink the Théâtre de l’Olivier in Istres.
The project aims to enlarge the theatre, increasing from 600 to 840 spectators in seated configuration, and 1,400 in standing configuration. A second 146-seat hall is created, as well as an exhibition room of nearly 130 m², a bar on the ground floor and a panoramic restaurant with a terrace on the 2nd floor.
Visually, the project, with its organic forms, opens onto its surroundings and is conceived as a link between the town and the lake.
